The year of consciousness

Happy New Year! May this year be better for everyone. New year, new me, is not something I do. But if you’ve been following me for a while, you know how I love to reflect. Time is scarce and precious. Is it just me or do the years fly by faster in a pandemic? One of my favourite questions to reflect comes from Michael Pilarczyk: how did you spend your time in 2021?

For one, it’s been quiet around here for a while. Building a house and having a baby does shift priorities sometimes. However, I’m not the one to make excuses. Two weeks of Christmas break helps me to set my priorities for 2022 straight. This is in sync with the Blue Bricks annual performance review as well!

Time & energy

In the past two years, I paid close attention to who and what gave me energy. That made it pretty simple to define goals for myself in 2021. Becoming a mother, I got to know an entire different side of me. Which I love. It really is an addition to every aspect of me you might already know. I didn’t only develop myself as a person in 2021, but as a professional too.

I received a big compliment from a colleague during our training programme to coach. He mentioned that I come across as a very balanced person, combining both my new family life with my professional ambitions and online visibility. Which he found to be inspiring. To be really seen like that, is humbling.

To me it’s living my dreams and achieving my goals. But, as I mentioned, my year was also far from perfect. I didn’t spend my time entirely as I’d like. I don’t regret anything either. Every year it becomes more clear to me what I love to do most! But to make that more visible as well.

Conscious choices, conscious transformation

Another colleague asked me if I needed more spotlight. Actually, that’s not it. For me it’s all about consciousness. To make conscious choices to do what I love and to expand my consciousness to be able to act from peace (of mind) and eliminate stress. For me, 2022 will be all about putting my conscious choices to action. Regarding my family, regarding yoga (both my classes and own practice) and regarding my work.

I see a parallel with the organisations I work for. Most organisations are well on their way of their digital transformation journey. However, this comes in many forms. From implementing agile or scrum to organisation-wide transformations changing entire business models. And everything in-between. Whatever fits your transformation, I wish it to be a conscious choice. For conscious choices will help to make it a crystal clear transformation, whatever happens on the way.

They way I look at these organisational transformations, that’s something I will share more about this year. It’s one of the things I’ll spend more time on this year. Where will you spend your time on in 2022?
