Energy is everything

In a previous blog I shared my first insights on attending Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within seminar. I needed some time to reflect on all my learnings. But here it is, my biggest lesson learned: Energy is everything.

I’ve read and heard a lot about focus. But until this seminar I didn’t realize the impact of energy. Tony Robbins asked us: do you want to live in a beautiful state all the time? (Well, yeah!) From this beautiful state it is easier to take massive action and achieve your goals. What people can do is amazing. What people do is usually disappointing. The good news is: you can train yourself to be in the state to take action.

  1. You decide not to suffer and to live in a beautiful state!
    • Create the right mindset. You have to deal with all seasons in life. Enjoy it while you’re at it. Some people freeze in winter, others snowboard.
  2. Anticipate. Leaders anticipate, losers react.
    • Circumstances change. Do not beat yourself up about that, but keep on going.
  3. Get out of your bad mood. Apply the 90 seconds rule.
    • Catch yourself if your mood and/or energy decreases. And get yourself back in that beautiful state within a snap of your fingers. Break your pattern. What you’ll get is what you’ll look for.

We learn that knowledge is power. I learned from Tony Robbins that the real power is in execution. Next to focus, physiology is essential to improve your state. To accomplish anything, you must create momentum. And momentum is forward motion with energy. As a result of UPW, my focus on energy is even bigger than before.

  • I go to the gym two times a week.
  • I practice yoga every day and take a class once a week.
  • I drink more water and less alcohol in general.
  • I’m motivated to eat healthy and make healthier choices.
  • I take more breaks to rest, both physically and mentally.

It sounds really easy and straightforward, but it takes a lot of discipline to actually do this. So I’ve been busy to strengthen these habits the past month. And it does pay off! What do you do to keep your energy high?
